Baley Lehr back in the winners circle at the 2024 IVMGC
After Calebs impressive win in the 2023 IV Mens Championship, Baley Lehr storms back the next year to claim his 4th area title. His last being in 2020 after he completed the 3peat. Will this be the start to another 3-peat?
Lehr started off his tournament hot with a blistering 64 (-6) day one at Deer Park to hold a 2 shot lead over Alex Blumenshine (66) and a 4 shot lead over defending champion Caleb Dzierzynski (68). It was Baleys tournament to lose going into the always tough Mendota Golf Course, which is known for its tight greens, blistering winds and requirement to execute the right shot at the right times.
Baley (along with 7 other golfers) all did just that and braced the difficult final round all posting 72’s (+2) but it was TJ Templeton that everyone was watching come down the 18th fairway.
TJ had eyes on the lead shooting an incredible 67(-3) in the final round to leap up the leader boad and put himself in a positoin to win it all. He was the only player under pay and the only player finish under par in round 2. With birdies on 11/12/15 and 17 he was putting the field on notice. But unfortunately he made costly bogey on the par 5, 10th that utterly could have been the shortcoming of an incredible come from behind win. After Baley making bogey on both 13 and 14, he settled back in and parred out the remainder of his round to secure his 4th title with a 2 shot lead.

What is the IV Men’s Championship?
The IV Men’s Championship is a local only golf tournament held and ran by a committee of avid golfers from the area. We pride ourselves in being locally ran and funded by the players and businesses.
In order to participate in the tournament, players must meet at least ONE of the following requirements.
Graduated from High School in the LaSalle or Bureau County
Current Full time resident of LaSalle or Bureau County
Works full time in LaSalle or Bureau County*
*to be reviewed by committee
